The guys on 'The Big Bang Theory' have a very fun and playful work dynamic, often joking around with each other and playing games. Because they work at CalTech, most of their jokes revolve around astrophysics and Wolowitz's lack of a PhD!
I have had so many different jobs over the years, being in college you take the easiest, best paying job you find, so you move jobs often...Most of my med-school friends were the same way. My favorite job, however, was when I worked at a warehouse where we produced advertising products for large companies. When you worked during the day, you could joke a bit and have some fun, but they big boss guys were all about production, and when you spend 12+ hours a day putting the same signs in a box, it gets kind of monotonous. I switched to over nights for the main reason that my school schedule was not permitting me to stay on days.
After I went to nights, it was so much fun. As long as we did our job and finished everything on target, our supervisor wasn't too pushy. We usually worked the same days with the same people each night. We grew a great co-worker relationship with each other, you had your own sort of inside joke with each person. It was like your own little family away from home. I loved having fun at work. Of course, sometimes new people would come and go, and take it too easy and not get things done. I am someone who believes in doing what your are supposed to do at your job, and doing it right. There were a lot of different ways that things were kind of hard there. Each job had a number, every piece in the job had a number, and you had an action code for what you did for the job and what piece number. We would joke about action codes and make fun of the continuous monotony.
The Big Bang Theory makes me think of that job all the time. The guys have their jokes pertaining to their work and expertise as well as knowing each other well enough to joke on certain subjects.
